Quarryhill would not be what it is today without the help of our wonderful Volunteers.  If you are interested in joining the volunteer program read about the different opportunities then contact the Garden Office.

Garden Tour Docents

Garden Tours are led by a knowledgeable team of Docents, March through October. Each new Docent participates in a thorough fall training program taught by staff and fellow docents. We ask that volunteers attend a monthly meeting and visit the garden often in order to improve the garden tours.

Propagation Volunteers

A hardworking group of volunteers meet to dig in and help the nursery manager propagate Quarryhill's collections. This includes sowing seeds, transplanting seedlings, taking cuttings, and re-potting plants. Propagation volunteers meet year-round.

Event Volunteers

Throughout the year Quarryhill hosts several events and workshops for our members and the public.  At times we need extra help to make these events a succes. You can view pictures of past events here.

All Volunteers receive a FREE Membership to Quarryhill !

Quarterly field trip
The quarterly volunteer field trip was a great success. The volunteers went to the Emerisa Gardens in Santa Rosa. This nursery is the newest nursery to offer Quarryhill members a 10% discount. The volunteers are usually avid gardeners and the tour of this nursery was wonderful. Then the group visited the personal garden of Quarryhill volunteer Sherry Franchetti. This was a great treat. Lunch was enjoyed on Sherry Franchetti's beautiful porch overlooking her wonderful garden.
