Quarryhill would not be what it is today without the help of our wonderful volunteers. We're actively seeking new volunteers. If you're interested in joining the volunteer team, please read about the different opportunities below, and then email or call us.

Garden Tour Docents Garden tours are led by a knowledgeable team of docents year-round. Each new docent participates in a thorough training program taught by staff and fellow docents. Tour docents visit the garden often in order to improve their knowledge of the Asian flora, and attend a monthly meeting at which ongoing training is conducted, new additions to Quarryhill's collection are discussed, and tour scheduling is addressed.
Nursery Volunteers A hardworking group of plant-loving volunteers meet to dig in and help the Nursery Manager propagate Quarryhill's collections. This help includes sowing seeds, transplanting seedlings, taking cuttings, and potting plants. Nursery volunteers meet year-round.
Elementary Educators Children's tour leaders/education volunteers conduct teaching tours of the garden for Sonoma County 4th & 5th grade classes during the spring and fall school tour seasons. Education volunteers participate in a separate training program that teaches them about Asian plants, Quarryhill’s work in their conservation and protection, some basics of botany, and introduces several techniques for working with elementary school children in botanical gardens.
Event Volunteers Throughout the year, Quarryhill hosts several events and workshops for our members and the public. At times we need extra help to make these events a success.
All Volunteers receive a FREE Membership to Quarryhill!
